What are Settlement Services?

Once the sales contract is deposited with us, or the order placed for your loan, we immediately establish a file and begin acting as the settlement agent.  A settlement agent agrees to abide by the terms of your contract and provide services to satisfy all parties involved.  A settlement agent acts to interpret the terms of your agreement and provides a customized service for each closing.  Many times documents are overnighted, closings are done remotely, and title issues may need cleared.  A good settlement agent juggles the details and attempts to provide a flawless closing for all parties involved.  This is our goal and we meet this in most cases.  Our settlement agents have years of experience handling all types of deals from mobile homes to multi-million dollar commercial transactions.  Each transaction is handled with care for detail and the highest professionalism.

REMOTE ONLINE NOTARIZATION

Transfer Title Agency, Inc. has two licensed professionals in our office who are authorized to conduct Remote Online Notarization “RON”.   Conducting a RON closing allows the signer to be virtually anywhere in the world while signing closing papers, including documents that would be traditionally required to be notarized in person.

In order to complete a RON closing, a computer is needed that can run Google Chrome Browser,  have a camera enabled system and a microphone.  A smartphone with a Google Chrome Browser as well is recommended to scan in your identification. 

The recent change to the notarization law makes Ohio the 10th state to recognize remote online notarization, empowering anyone to notarize documents online from anywhere at any time. Senate Bill 263 took effect September 19, 2019. Not all transactions will qualify for the use of RON.  Please discuss this possibility with your escrow officer, as there is an additional charge for this service of convenience.
